What is Hypnosis?

For many Hypnosis is a mysterious and frightening phenomenon. Hypnosis is actually a very natural state that we have all experienced. Think back to a time when you were driving and passed your exit on the way home or wondered how you had gotten home, or about the last movie you saw and how absorbed you were. You were in a state of hypnosis.

Everything you’ve learned is stored in your subconscious mind. The ability to drive is stored in the subconscious. While you’re driving you can be on “autopilot” yet entirely aware of when you need to change lanes, come to a stop or avoid an object on the road.  When you need to avoid something on the road, your conscious mind comes to the forefront again.

Hypnosis is simply a state of focus and heightened awareness.

Inducing a state hypnosis can be used to distract the conscious mind in order to bring the subconscious mind to the forefront. In the state of hypnosis a client becomes highly responsive to suggestion, however remains entirely in control.  Negative beliefs and behaviors can be transformed through the use of positive suggestion.
