Examine your sleep patterns. What external causes contribute to your sleeplessness? What are you thinking about that causes you to lay in bed awake? As you worry that you are not going to sleep, you mind becomes more and more active and you become anxious. Your body releases adrenaline and you are wide-awake and alert in bed, when you really want to be sleeping.

You are in effect stopping yourself from sleeping. If you give yourself permission to rest, set a time when you will go to bed, eliminate the influences that cause or contribute to your sleeplessness, and think about positive things as you are preparing to sleep, this will be much more conducive to a good night sleep.

Hypnotherapy will secure the new positive behaviors and thoughts about sleep in the subconscious, and fortify the association leading to a greater level of relaxation and sleep.
